RobOlympics 2006 had only the 3kg Bot Hockey class (originally) - being a proponent of said event we felt we had to build something for it. We re-used the name Kick Stop in honor of one of our defunct Beetles (also because we liked it).
3kg Hockey Bot - Kick Stop
We started with aluminium 1 ½” square tubing (could only find 6061), Banebots 28mm gearmotors, Lynxmotion tires/hubs,and some 1/8” carbon fiber.To this we added assorted other parts we had laying around.
Next we cut a “nose” in the aluminium & carved out space for the equipment tray.
Then we glued down the CF into the slot. The Banebots motors will now just squeeze in. I ran a rod through the axle holes to make sure the drive line stayed aligned.
