Our first competition was Sept. 20 - 21, 2003 in Las Vegas, NV. It was a great venue (www.Robojoust.com). Indoors, Air-conditioned, Carpeted floors, Rooms just an elevator ride away. Can I pick ‘em or can I pick ‘em!
We were happy with our initial showing (See Survival Series write-up). But, of course, we plan to do better next time.
Our next tournament was ROBOlympics in our backyard SF (Hurrah!) 3/20/2004 through 3/21/2004.
Kick-me Kate underwent some surgery (remove weight) and upgrades (increase weight) to prepare. (See “post CSS upgrades” in KMK’s section)
Our new 30 lb. active weapon bot “Kick-me ‘Mo” was assembled. Some build pictures are posted. It was an all aluminium bot (to make weight).
We’ve even hacked some RC toys for the kids to play/compete with - see Beetles and Ants in Robots.
